Taken in the August 2003, here Durango Jim in his trusty purple hat scales the cliffs of Acadia in search of the treasure of Sierra Madre I think or just running from sea kelp.

This latest adventure of Durango and his side kick J for Josh came about on a last minute idea that lobster needs to be digested so we just took up and left for Acadia. Some highlights included topping my car out 131mph before the speed limiter kicked in, sleeping in the back of my car, rock climbing on the ocean, eating lobster, Belgium beer, and lobster finger puppet show by Durango.

Side note, an example of my imagination getting carried away. I was driving through a small Maine bypass in heavily wooded area like most of Maine, no lights just sharp turns, darkness, and Moose. Driving cautiously I see a large bonfire and gathering of men, either it was boy scouts, large congregation of hunters, an east coast burning man, but my mind thought of the worst. Realizing I'm in Maine, watching Stephen King adaptations as a child on ABC I thought it was group of KKK members preparing their secret ritual to communicate with space aliens to exterminate this world of their version of undesirable. I thought I was spotted by them and they were chasing your hero Sachi, with some driving maneuvers from the movie Ronin. How the mind plays tricks, group going from boy scouts to KKK members trying to connect with aliens. Posted by Picasa

Vijay eat your heart out, Sachi is having a better day at the venerable St Andrews then Vijay Singh did this past July.

In late spring of 2004, a 23yr old Sachi rocked the old world, by setting foot on the British Isles. One of the more memorable parts of the trip was the visit to St Andrews in Scotland with my partner in crime "The A-train". I never had an appreciation for golf and to this day I will still see it as an excuse to take a walk in the park, but St Andrews gives you an idea of why it might be fun. We played one round.

While we were playing around the few groups ahead of us had a large disproportional amount of bleached blonde hair children and young adults, who talked with a strong lisp, slurred speech and more spittle then Sylvester, so I turned to the "A-train" is this some sort of special education field trip, she said no their just Scottish.

Finally we walked on the beach so I could continue my tradition of setting foot into strange surf. Posted by Picasa

Salisbury Crag May 2004

The image you see to the right is Salisbury Crag, a large plateu found on the city outskirts of Edinburgh. In Scotland, similiar to the Inuit of the north who have many names for snow, so do the Scottish for Crags. Crag climbing, more like a stiff hike is a popular and must do activity when visiting Edinburgh. On a day best described a scene from Lord of the Rings, my sister and I went crag climbing, I will post several of the pictures taking during this adventure featuring the exploits of the "A train" and "El Sach O" tackling this monumental task. Indians on the high range, fighting off the Scottish Elderly for the perfect shot of the City of Edinburgh below. This picture was taken in the late spring of May 2004.

Purpose of the Vacation, Photoes, & Stories Blog

The purpose of this Blog is for my friends and close associates to see pictures and read stories of the happenings on trips with friends. I figured this is the best way for me to put up pictures and recount tales without having to A.) bore people with stories that I find amusing and B.) I'm notoriously lazy of sharing and developing photo's. So I figured this was the solution and time to time I will use this place to put up ramblings of insanity that I tend to have, this will be the outlet. It will also evolve in time for other friends and users to add items to the blog, for varying perspectives.
