Aloha from Aurangabad!!
Hey everybody, hey Dr. Nick.
I am about to head to Mumbai (Formerly Bombay) to complete my sojurn of india, but before I do that, some quick words about Aurangabad, and other stops since my last post. (All items will be given more detailed posts with hiliarious story of wacky forgeiners and pictures when I return, keep in mind its not us who are forgieners it everyone else, those crazy indians.) Well Delhi the second time wasn't much better but there is gaggle of pretty, snotty ladies, and shady rickshaw drivers using the name of god to swindle you. Its said to be cosmopolitian. The only time this rings true is everyone is willing to cheat you no matter for how little. The hotel was amazing, with fabulous restuarnts and funky night club (though instead of the pretty people of Delhi its was mostly forgieners like us.)
Then after a delay, common of practice of india, I arrived 4 hours later to my next destination of Aurangabad the ratty town bulit next to old dirt caves. The flight was reminscient of Disney World, not because they were playing 'A small world after-all' but rather it was most fileld with camera weilding asian tourists from taiwan and japan. On this particular flight one of these photographic big game hunters wasn't ready for the adventures that awaited and she passed out on the flight to the shuggrin of even the most stalwart bhuddist monks aboard. As the cabin crew tried to assist, an elderly Indian (Unkle) helped matters by be-rating a poor young flight attendent on how this is such bullshit and how useless they are, she promptly explained to him to go fuck himself or offered a bottle water, whichever she seemed to placate him and put him to ease. After some craziness we landed.
The next day I travelled to world heritage site Ellora Caverns and then several smaller sights. Of all the things I saw so far in India these caves are the most spectacular item, not only for their scope but also the fact there were no pimps, minimal hustlers, and actual peace of mind as I viewed this anicient places of worship.
The wildlife though was outrageous, crazy fruit bats everywhere, and possible chupacabra sighting, though only my buddy Miguel the driver (real name Ganesha) can verify for sure. OK well I will write more later.
Sincerely,
Sachi
